In addition to our state-accredited academic program we are intentional in helping children know God as their personal Creator and Savior. We follow a Bible-based, Christian-oriented, decidedly-creationist curriculum. Though our school is part of the world-wide Seventh-day Adventist educational system, our students come from a variety of religious backgrounds.
The small size of Baker View Christian School provides an environment in which we can uniquely personalize learning for each student. Therefore, individualized learning takes place in small groups or one-to-one instruction where academic growth is measured on an individual scale. BVCS provides MAPS testing three times a year to track each student’s personal growth and achievement.
Our students participate in a variety of learning activities such as written work, presentations, hands on projects, STEM, educational field trips and assemblies. We also encourage and provide opportunities for community service throughout the school year.
We are blessed with a team of volunteers, though often retired from their professions, enthusiastically share their knowledge with our students. To ensure safety , all volunteers have undergone background checks before entering classroom. This inter-generational enrichment experience allows our students to enjoy sewing, languages, and a broad classroom music experience.
Our local pastor joins the class weekly to present Christian assembly programs complete with singing led by a student praise team.
Each year we go on several fun and educational field trips, which have included aquariums, beaches, science centers, farms, and historical parks.
Music class and instrument instruction by our seasoned volumteer music teacher.
Students are exposed to multiple languages from staff and volunteers.
Sewing lessons are a favorite activity enjoyed by our students of all ages.
